Be the Reason…..

I recently had an experience that reminded me just how important it is to be a light in this world—to be the reason people see the good.

I was raised in the church. I attended Catholic school, went to Mass regularly, and grew up with a strong foundation in faith. As I got older, I transitioned to the Christian faith. Like many, my relationship with God has had its ups and downs. During difficult and uncertain times, I find myself praying more. And, if I’m being honest, during the joyful seasons, I sometimes let that connection slip. It’s something I’m working on—remaining rooted, no matter the season.

I’m incredibly proud to say that my oldest child is a pastor. A gifted speaker, passionate about the Word, and full of love for the Lord. My youngest is also a devoted follower of Christ, and recently, she’s been sharing scripture and reflections with me that have truly touched my heart.

One moment in particular really stayed with me.

Elle said, “Isn’t it funny that God created the earth in 7 days, yet He takes 9 months to create each of us? He must really love us.”

Wow. That one simple thought has echoed in my mind all week.

What a beautiful reminder of how intentional God is with each of us. We are handcrafted—made with love, made with purpose. Each of us was given unique gifts, talents, and hearts meant to impact the world in ways only we can.

It’s easy to forget that in the busyness of life. But I believe that when we take time to listen—to our children, our elders, even strangers—we’re reminded of the beauty in every soul. We are all learning, growing, and shaping each other in ways big and small.

So today, I want to encourage you:

Use your gifts.
Share your light.
Be open to learning—from the young, the old, and everyone in between.
And most importantly, be the reason someone sees the good in the world.

We were all made with love. Let’s live like it.

With love,
Nic 💛
